How we make money, and what it never affects
PlaceWisely is free for families. Some communities pay us. This page says exactly how.
Who pays us
When a family moves into a community that has a referral agreement with PlaceWisely, and we made the introduction, that community pays us a referral fee. The fee is typically a share of the first month's charges or a fixed placement fee, set in a written agreement whose version is attached to every referral we send.
What it never affects
Compensation is not an input to search results, suitability scores, match scores, featured selections, or editorial content. Communities without an agreement appear in search results on the same terms and we relay requests to them free of charge. If we ever run sponsored placements they are labeled and kept separate from results.
How we choose featured communities
Featured communities on the homepage are the profiles with the most complete, most recently verified information in a market. The method is stated on the page. Whether a community pays us is not a factor.
What you see before you send
Every pricing or tour request shows, before you submit, whether that community is a referral partner and exactly who will receive your information. Only the community you chose receives it. We do not sell leads and we do not share your request with other providers.
