My mom was at Northwood Glen 2 for 3 years and 8 months. I regret to say our experience wasn’t the best. I was there nearly every day as I live nearby, and I am retired. While the building is attractive and kept very clean, the food wasn’t great despite my repeated complaints to the owner. I felt that my many attempts to improve the quality of life in general for my mom fell on deaf ears. After all this time, there has been a little improvement in the food and now there is a manager that’s there usually in the mornings, but most of the time, there is absolutely nothing going on there. There are not activities every day as I had been told there would be.
The volume on the TV in the great room is kept so low that nobody can hear it. What’s the use of having a huge TV as the focal point of the room if you can’t even hear it? I understand they want to be able to hear if someone in the back of the house yells for help, but why can’t one of the staff sit back there, then? As a result, most of the residents stay in their own rooms and watch tv.
I also feel that priority is given to making life easier for the caregivers rather than making life better for the residents.
I could go on and on, but, ultimately, if you’re family member is ok with lackluster food, little activity, and just wants to spend their days in their room, this place is fine. If they are still invested in living and having a little fun, I would keep looking.
I had the privilege of visiting Northwood Glen II Assisted Living today and was impressed with the welcoming atmosphere and the staff.
It was immediately apparent the caregivers were very cognizant and attentive to the residents. I noted how responsive, well groomed and very interactive the residents appeared.
The home itself is immaculate and well designed and spacious.
These were all signs that Northwood Assisted Living is a top notice home for seniors. It will be my pleasure to recommend!
Northwood Glen II Assisted Living has been such a blessing for our family. Mihaela is a truly caring and compassionate person who treats every resident with love, patience, and respect. It brings us great comfort knowing our loved one is in such good hands. The warm, family-like atmosphere and exceptional care make this a place we highly recommend.
I have known Ella and her family for many years, and I can truly say they are wonderful, caring, and compassionate people. They put their heart into caring for others and treat people with kindness, dignity, and respect. I know how much dedication and love goes into their assisted living home and how seriously they take the responsibility of caring for their residents. I would feel comfortable recommending them to anyone looking for a caring and supportive environment for a loved one.
I have worked with Northwood Glen for 5 years as a hospice nurse for some of their residents. I highly recommend this group home to anyone looking for top tier care for their loved ones. Northwood Glen staff are very experienced and always kind and gentle towards their clients. If i ever needed a place for a loved one id highly recommend touring Northwood Glen.
