The day finally arrived when my mother, Carolyn, needed to move from basic assisted living into memory care. The staff at Highgate, from management down to the maintenance guys (who surprised us by moving her furniture), made the transition as seamless as possible. Kim even found a free reclining chair for us to use in mom’s room. Once in memory care, she was treated lovingly. Brittney and Antonio were especially attentive.
Sadly, mom has passed away, but her final days were about as good as they could be. We will always recommend Highgate if we are asked about assisted living options in Prescott
My mother has been a resident of the Cottage at Highgate for almost 10 months. I have never met a caregiver that hasn’t been the model of patience and grace. I am so pleased with the care that she is receiving I would highly recommend considering Highgate if you are looking for a safe and caring place for your loved one.
If you are looking for the perfect Senior living spot for your loved one or self, look no further. Highgate is your home! This beautiful place is warm and inviting. They use diffusers that leave you feeling energetic for your day and relaxed in the evening. The food is delicious whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. I had the pleasure to dine with my loved one at all. Balanced, colorful, flavorful and filling. The resident homes are quaint and well designed. What really sets Highgate apart is their staff whether it is their receptionist, sales associate, dining associate, care partner or nurse, your loved one is treated as if they are the only one living there…these individuals, too numerous to name, are walking angels. They know your loved one, their history, likes and dislikes and even more impressive, they know their name sometimes even before you have been formally introduced. Their sign outside reads, One Big Family” and it couldn’t be more true. My loved one has made a group of friends in less than 3 weeks and is thriving. And, as for me, I have found support, comfort and peace knowing my loved one is cared for and I will be kept abreast of what is happening in their life there. What more could you possibly ask for. Highgate is the home you are looking for!!! P.S. Don’t forget to check out their movie theatre!
Care team in the cottage are fabulous! They treat each resident like their favorite grandparent. Mom has been there over 2 years and is happy. Food is great. Perfect size portioned 3 course meals every evening. Fun activities throughout the day (I enjoy all the ones I am there for). Musicians that come to play for them. Field trips to the zoo, picnics at the lake and bus rides to see the zebras, highland cows and many other beautiful things in the area. They have a gazebo courtyard that they plant flowers each spring so they are free to enjoy the outdoors safely.
I had the pleasure of experiencing the Virtual Dementia Tour at Highgate Senior Living in Prescott! It truly opened my eyes to the world of having dementia and how to better understand those living with it. I’m especially thankful for Stephanie and her team for putting together such an eye opening experience. I definitely recommend going to the next VTD if you have the opportunity!
