My husband, with Parkinsons and Lewy Body Dementia, has been a resident for 3 months and is thriving. His quality of life is so much better because of the daily garden walks, the great meals, exercise, games, arts and crafts, and brain games. When our grandson asked his grandpa, "How is the food there?" He responded, "It's awesome; you get dessert at every meal." At breakfast, they get fruit, and he calls it dessert. Because he was previously a hiker, he loves the garden area where he gets daily walks with a staff member. When I come to visit each day, he is ready for a second walk outside. I love how he participates in the exercises, the games, arts and crafts, and enjoys a movie now and then. Each week, a singing group or a musician entertains the residents with sing-alongs, and on Thursdays they have a beautiful Spiritual Service. My husband went on several outings in the neighborhood, one being a car show, which he loved. The staff, including office personnel, are so kind, supportive, and caring with each resident. I appreciate that a doctor is visiting two days a week and a nurse is on duty 5 days a week. We are truly blessed that MTM is his home away from home.
I brought my wife Vickie Hoffman to MTM over four years ago, at the end of March, 2022. For the first year and a half I was able to take Vickie out for walks, hikes, and meals. When her condition made it necessary to move her upstairs for more intensive care, that more intensive care by her will-trained caretakers always has been excellent. I visit her nearly every day for at least three hours and have either lunch or dinner with her, so I have been able to see that the caretakers always have given Vickie all of the kind of care she needs at the times she needs it. The caretakers and also the other members of the staff always have been very friendly and responsive to any request that I might make.

I have visited most Memory Care Assisted Living facilities in this area and am sure they all have merit, but I think the Margaret T. Morris Center is unique. The Care Giver to resident ratio is high. All the staff members go out of their way to be supportive and care for the needs of the individual resident. The residents are engaged in a verity of games and musical artists frequently entertain. My family memeber has been a resident at the MTM Center for some time and do not think the care could be better. I highly recommend the Margaret T. Morris Center if someone needs care in a friendly safe environment.
Placing mom in a memory care center was a difficult decision but I no longer could fulfill her needs. Mom was alone and lonely, and my daily visits and care were not enough. My gut was telling me that mom was withering away, unhappy and unwell. I was looking for a memory care place already when an agency that was helping me with mom suggested MTMC. After the tour, my gut agreed with this suggestion.
Mom is thriving at Margaret T. Morris. The difference in her attitude and the degree of interaction with others are amazing. She is smiling and active, she’s making friends and most of all she eats her meals and gets dressed to be ready for the day. She is happy. She is beaming.
Thank you, MTMC.
Dan★★★★★5 months agoMy brother-in-law DJ spent the last 22 months of his life at the Margaret T. Morris Center (MTMC). It was the best place he could’ve been.
Moving a loved one to a memory care facility is an extremely hard decision. The MTMC staff quickly earned our family’s trust. They taught us much about dementia care. They delivered individualized care with sincerity, humor and compassion, true TLC. Besides dementia DJ had multiple medical problems. The nursing care was outstanding.
MTMC was designed and built for dementia care. Residents’ bedrooms open out to a large living room. This common area promotes a sense of community. DJ got to feel a part of the MTMC Family.
A variety of activities are offered daily and can brighten a resident’s day. Some of the activities DJ participated in were arts and crafts, active games, spiritual services and town rides.
The administrators were a great resource, providing ongoing family support. They helped us make difficult care decisions. Any issues were handled with sensitivity and transparency.
Our family is so grateful that MTMC was an option for us. It was the best!
