We made 2 visits to investigate Legacy Village for a family member. The property is kept in "new condition" in all areas that we saw. It is also a very friendly living facility and that includes the management, the staff, and the residents.
To the management, our guide during our visits made it more than just a visit. She presented the different plans in a very organized but friendly manner. In addition, she communicated directly with our family member with compassion and a genuine care our family members feelings. That made a huge impact.
A great program from everything that I saw.
My mom moved in on July 10. Each and every staff member from sales to caregivers to front desk to med techs to restaurant staff have been professional, personable, and helpful.
The move-in was a bit of a rush job as I wanted my mom transferred from her previous place ASAP. The team at Legacy Village was amazing to get all the paperwork and process as smooth as possible. I am so grateful.
It’s been about a month there for my mom. She’s safe, well looked after, and ongoing communication with staff there has been quick and efficient. Any questions are answered and my Mom’s needs are being met.
The facilities are modern, clean, and laid out well. There are lots of events and options to keep my Mom as engaged as she wants.
I’ve been very happy with my choice to have my mom live there!
A family member has been living at Legacy Village of Salt River for over two years now - starting in senior living and moving to memory care. We have had an incredible experience working with the staff there to help our family member navigate their physical, mental, and emotional challenges. Even at the senior living level, Legacy Village kept an eye on our family member to ensure safety and didn't hesitate to contact us if they noticed something wasn't right. There is a busy activity schedule, provided meals, and a host of other included services. The staff that we have gotten to know there are caring, considerate, patient, and sympathetic. The senior staff we have dealt with (Lara, Dianna, and Cara) are always available to chat and have helpful suggestions...all of the other staff (including Mary Beth at the front desk) are caring and know my family member on sight and by name! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Legacy Village of Salt River.
We just moved my parents into this wonderful community. I can't say enough about the fabulous modern floor plans.. the attentive staff and the residents. Within the first week, my mom met so many people who just raved about being at Legacy… every time we go there, the place is buzzing with activity, socializing, and very happy residents and staff.
The Care, the amenities and activities exceeded our expectations- Christina has been instrumental in helping this transition go as smoothly as possible and is always there to answer questions and assist with anything we need- we're currently trying to get my dad out of a rehab facility and into this wonderful new Community and Legacy has even helpful with that process.
Legacy Village at Salt River is an outstanding senior community. There is a reason why there's not a lot of availability here.!
The place is beautiful & that is where the positivity begins & ends. We had my mother in the memory care unit for appx. 2 weeks until she broke her hip there. Before we signed my mother up, we toured the facility & everyone seemed happy. There was a recreation person in the memory care area who said that she always gets the residents to participate & they are not left idle in their room. We were told they accommodate all diets & have a delicious restaurant etc... We were excited that we found this beautiful place for my mother that was going to keep her stimulated & possibly slow down the dementia. We signed up & moved her in. Legacy has been open for quite a while, however, the 1st night my mother was there the room & hallway in Memory care was infiltrated with crickets. I complained & the staff said, Oh yes, there is a cricket problem here. Uggh. My brother finally called Steve or Beth & they had a maintenance guy come the next morning to close up the air handler closet with wood. Why wasn't this done before if everyone knew the crickets were a problem? That wasn't even the worst of it. They did not have enough staff in the memory care unit for the 30 residents that were there. Memory care residents need major help! Especially in the evening when the sundowning takes place. Residents were screaming. Residents were pacing up & down the hall. Residents were shaking the doors trying to get out & there was a staff of 3 trying to deal with all these people & not doing a good job of it at all. My mother was scared of the screaming & the residents & just wanted to stay in her room. In addition, my mother has celiac disease & is gluten free. They did not have a gluten free menu. They said they could give her a burger without the bun or give her the soup broth without the noodles. The memory unit served food like the army. They had a huge pot of soup or a huge pot of whatever & everyone got the same food. & the food was not fresh & not quality food at all! They probably gave the fresh food to their regular residents, but the memory care residents got the garbage food & canned food. Because my mother was gluten free, one night (that I know of) they forgot to give her a meal. Luckily we were still paying her aid to stay with her & the aid called me that she was never brought food. They questioned it & waited over an hour & it still didn't come. I sent an email to the head staff, but none of them responded to me! To continue...they allowed us to put a camera in her room. My mother was constantly in her room alone, unattended & left there in a recliner chair many nights in her clothes without even being put to bed & put in her pajamas. Because she was left alone & not put to bed properly, she was groggy, left alone in her room for hours on end, & she forgot to take her walker to the bathroom & fell & broke her hip. While my mother was recuperating from the hip surgery, I decided she should not go back. She was only there for 2 weeks & we paid for 2 months of their fee & they would only refund 30% of one month. My mother's hip was broken due to their negligence & they only refunded less than $3000 out of over $16,000! To even get that 30% back was like pulling teeth...they would not return emails nor would they return calls. Legacy Village Memory Care is a Disgrace! If you care about your loved ones, I highly suggest that you do not put them in there!
