Clermont Park is exceptional. I have experience with five or six other facilities where my parents and other relatives resided. These facilities all did a good job, but Clermont Park is heads and shoulders above the others.
I moved my 93 year old cousin from California to Denver two years ago. After touring other facilities, including Clermont with Marcie, who did an excellent job, we selected Clermont Park. My cousin moved into the skilled nursing area. She spent two years there until her recent passing.
My cousin's room had ample space for her bed, side table, recliner, two other small tables for books and knickknacks, and a very large combination dresser/wardrobe/tv piece of furniture.
Her room had a view to one of the beautiful garden and courtyard areas at Clermont. It was always kept clean, as were the other areas in the facility.
Clermont offers multiple activities every day to residents. Exercise classes, speakers, movies, singing, puzzles, church services, bingo, you name it, they offer it. The activity staff did a wonderful job encouraging my cousin to take part in activities.
I appreciated the quarterly meetings that my cousin's care team at Clermont held with me. They updated me on her care and gave me an opportunity to ask questions and raise any concerns I might have. The members of the care team always came prepared and I appreciated that.
My cousin exhibited signs of depression and anxiety as a result of the move from California to Colorado. Over a few months time, the medical staff gradually adjusted her medications and my cousin did a 180--she spent the vast majority of her time at Clermont very happy.
My cousin spent her final months in hospice, which Clermont offers along with Brighton Hospice. She was able to stay in her room at Clermont and receive hospice service there. The Brighton Hospice team of nurses and other caregivers were fantastic. They did so much to make my cousin's final months comfortable.
Finally, and most importantly, the staff at Clermont is top shelf in every respect. Their technical and 'people" skills are exceptional. From admissions, to the extraordinarily kind women at the front desk, to the other administrators we interacted with, and to the nurses and their assistants on the floor, everyone with whom we dealt was professional, well trained, attentive and kind. A special call out to the nurses and assistants who interacted with my cousin on a daily (and nightly) basis--you are among the kindest people I have met and I appreciate everything you did for my cousin. You are difference makers.
We were happy with the level of care my mother-in-law received during her stay at Clermont Park Rehab Center. The staff were attentive and the food was so good that she, a hesitant eater, consumed every meal. The facility was clean throughout her stay. Activities were plentiful and relevant. A shout-out to Kieara(sp?), who found another patient that my mother-in-law could relate to, and sat them together for meals. This was quite intuitive. It was a huge contributor to my mother-in-law's success with rehab, as it touched on the needs of her soul. Also, thanks to Ruth Mayberry for working with us to extend her stay another few days when unforeseen medical setbacks arose. The only glitches we encountered were with communication re medical changes, medication changes and discharge instructions. As a result, my mother-in-law was sent out with no meds. Despite those issues, I would have her go to Clermont Park again, should the need arise.
On the east side of the building is the rehab facility not to be confused with the assisted living apartments that occupy the main structure. My 88 year old Parkinson’s husband has been here twice in 6 months for rehab, first after a hip fracture, then recovering from pneumonia. I have spent many days here with him since he has very limited vision, poor hearing and dementia and can’t get out of a chair without help or even how to ask for it. The concierge person is cheerful and helpful. The therapy staff is really great. My husband mostly likes the food especially the dessert cakes. If you press the red button to ask for help it can take from 3 to 20+ minutes for response which seems low tech and slow after the hospital but must be typical in the underpaid industry. Be sure to go over the medications your person is taking and all is correct. I appreciated the minimal use of disposable senior sanitary products that filled the garbage cans in the hospital. The dinner napkins are cloth, real dinnerware. Laundered clothes arrived everyday. The grounds are well kept with a quiet courtyard garden where you may occasionally get to meet a dog. Not being religious we appreciated that as a Christian company we never heard about Jesus but could have attended one of the numerous weekly events many of which were secular.
We were most inspired by the exceptional dedication of the kitchen staff, chefs and waiters, who consistently deliver excellent service with unwavering passion and professionalism. Their tireless efforts create a truly welcoming atmosphere, making every breakfast and lunch a moving experience.
Important Note! When considering care options for your loved one, it is worth weighing the financial implications of nursing home care versus the benefits of providing personalized care at home, where daily medical care can be focused on their well-being. Your love and care are truly priceless. The best place in the world is home!❤️🙏🏾
I am still shopping for my mom, but we have visited Clermont twice for tours. Marcie, their Sales Counselor, is amazing and so helpful. Clermont’s atmosphere is very welcoming and all the residents seem genuinely happy to be living there. They have several pricing options to fit many needs (which is unique), and also have all the levels of care on site (including skilled nursing) which makes them stand out. We haven’t made our final decision yet, but I already know you absolutely couldn’t go wrong selecting Clermont as your new home.
