I recently moved my mom to this facility from another state. They have been completely amazing!
From the start, they guided me through the process. They provided a checklist for all of the paperwork and answered all my questions throughout by always being available. They have since welcomed my mom and ensured she is part of the community! The activities they provide for the residents are fun and helpful for elderly. The food was mentioned in previous reviews. My family and I have eaten there several times with my mom and have enjoyed the food a great deal. It's providing well balanced and good flavored food. My mom loves the food.
I would consider this facility if you are looking for a family centered community that is safe and clean with helpful and caring staff. I'm glad to be a part of the Libby Bortz Family.
L T★★★★★7 years agoSeveral people have reviewed that the food at Libby Bortz isn't good. In November 2018, they contacted with a food service provider that specializes in senior facilities. Since then the quality has improved (I've asked many residents and they are enjoying it.)
Staff is attentive and the place is always spotless. Affordable and welcoming.
I find Libby Bortz lacking in all areas. Upon entering the facility, you are greeted by the most unprofessional front desk staff, who are rude and unhelpful. In fact, one time, I asked to talk to someone in charge, and the front desk lady told me there was no available. She proceeded to escort me towards the door. I have asked several times to talk to someone in charge and never get a response or a callback. I’ve come to the conclusion that there is no one in charge.
The nurses are nasty here and very unprofessional. They say they have 24-hour staff, but we found out there is no medical staff Friday-Monday. My grandmother went days without her medication because, according to them, she forgot to tell them she ran out (the medicine they were getting paid to provide). My grandmother has gone days without bathing, sometimes a week or more. Her room was not frequently clean. In fact, we wanted to complain to the state social worker, but my grandmother was too afraid of retaliation. My grandmother asked for help doing a few things, only for the staff to say no, that's not their job. The food is horrible. We have moved her since I would not put anybody I love at this facility. We need to better for are elders.
I will admit, my friend, whom is at the facility, has said the place is extremely clean and it looks like and feels like a hotel. However, and this is a big However, The food is terrible. At one time the food was great. However, , the chef was fired. Since he left, the food has gone down hill. The chicken is dry the meals are uneatable, for instance, one day they had corn beef and they weren't able to cut it with a knife. When the residents complained, they were told over and over we are working on it. I even called the director and spoke with her several months ago and still no improvement in the meals. I feel extremely frustrated because there is not much I can do. It's not like the resident can go to another location to eat. For many of these people, the only thing they have to look forward to is having a nice meal. Unfortunately, this is not the case at Libby Bortz Assisted Living. Here is an example of their choices Cheese Enchiladas with Spanish Rice and Refried Beans or Italian Seasoned Pork with Rice Pilaf and Snap Peas. It may sound good but the taste has a lot to be desired. My hope in writing this review, is that someone there will listen and start improving the quality of food.
I will say that LBALC is a wonderful caring place. My mother has been there for 3 years +. The staff is careing and attentive. The building is clean , modern and well appointed. The dining room is nice and meals are done very well. the common aresa are very relaxing .The rooms are well laid out for semi independant living for seniors. The staff tries to keep the residents engagedin activities if they wish. A real gem in Littleton.
