After an unfavorable experience with my parent’s former assisted living community, I toured many facilities in search of a place they could truly call home. From the moment I walked through the doors of Starling at San Jose, I was impressed by the beauty of the community, its values, and the genuine warmth I felt from both the staff and residents.
I especially appreciated that Starling is locally owned and operated rather than part of a large corporate system. It has a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere. The enrichment team is vibrant and keeps residents engaged in meaningful activities, which is especially important for supporting an aging mind.
The transition into Starling was smooth, and my parent settled in quickly and happily. The Director of Nursing and nursing staff also helped resolve an ongoing concern, relieving a tremendous amount of stress for me. I have been equally touched by how the residents look out for one another.
Because life sometimes takes me away from the city for extended periods, the peace of mind Starling has given me is invaluable. I can leave knowing my parent is happy, supported, and being well cared for. I am deeply grateful we found this community.
We recently moved my mother into this assisted living community, and the experience has been wonderful. The Executive Director has been incredibly caring, professional, and attentive, which gave our family confidence from the very beginning. The entire management staff, including the sales director and director of nursing has gone above and beyond to make this transition as easy as possible.
The activities department does an amazing job providing engaging and meaningful programs that keep my mom active and involved. The food has been excellent, and my mother has really been enjoying her meals.
What stands out the most is the friendly and compassionate staff. Everyone has been welcoming, kind, and genuinely caring, making our family feel at ease moving my mother in!
We are so grateful to have found a community where she feels comfortable, supported, and well cared for. I would highly recommend this assisted living community to anyone looking for a place that truly puts its residents first.
My MIL recently moved into Starling and the experience has been absolutely wonderful.
What made this transition and experience so smooth has been the quality staff and community. Starling's director Amy Bowland has been so attentive and responsive every step of the way. She truly cares about her Starling residents & is involved in a daily, warm hands-on way. You always see her walking around checking in on residents and conversing with everyone.
Andi has also organized such fun events for everyone, especially the Grandparents day event had last weekend with my kids, husband, and MIL. She is yet another staff member we met who approached us our first week at Starling & made us feel so welcome.
Looking forward to the memories to come at Starling. My kids love coming here to visit their grandmother here!
Starling at San Jose is the perfect place for your loved ones. The directors and staff truly care about the residents, the food is great, and there is always something new to do. The range of activities is amazing. From volleyball to Spanish classes, the team keeps the residents learning and engaged. There really is something for everyone. Shelly is a problem solver. She goes above and beyond to make positive changes and listens to staff concerns. I’m so happy to know that this company exists to care for people during the most vulnerable part of their lives. Keep up the good work, Starling!
We are very pleased with the care and support we have received from the staff at Starling. They put a lot of thought and effort into creating a warm, welcoming and fun environment for residents to connect and enjoy one another. Everyone has been extremely welcoming and kind. We are so grateful to have found this community!!
