From the moment we walked in to tour Bridgewater, we felt such peace. Amanda was so kind and every staff member she introduced us to was warm and welcoming. I knew right then this was the place we needed to move my mom into. She lived there from March 2024 until her passing in March 2025. The transition was difficult, but Bridgewater made it easier. In her final weeks, Hospice was brought in to help care for her, and the Bridgewater staff was incredibly supportive. The community is clean, peaceful, and affordable with no hidden fees. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly caring home for their loved one, and the food is amazing as well.
My family member moved into Bridgewater a little over 7 months ago. It was a rough start as she was leaving the life she knew behind. She gave up her car, home, and half of her possessions and moved into a downstairs room. She experienced a great loss and adjustment period. Frankly, we were all extremely concerned. I'm back to physically check on her, and what a difference. She looks good and is in better physical and mental condition. She has used the "button" to call for assistance a few times and knows it works, and she feels safe. Different staff members check in on her throughout the day, and she says, "They are all very nice."
She has used the shuttle to the local markets and medical appointments as well as the golf cart rides to medical appointment s. At one point during this visit, she looked at me and said, "Thank you for finding and picking this place." I don't live nearby, but my communications and questions have always been promptly addressed by staff.
It has been a family effort, but we all feel comfortable and know it was the right decision for us to choose Bridgewater Assisted Living.
I am giving this location three stars, and honestly, that is only because of an amazing nurse named Colin.
I understand that facilities can be short-staffed, but on too many occasions, I witnessed things that were simply not up to par. I was not impressed with the room cleanliness, the patience and care received, or the quality of the food being served.
I could create an entire list of concerns, but I am going to focus on what happened today.
While I was visiting the resident, staff came to transfer him, there was very little communication with him about what was happening. His belongings were packed up quickly, and several important items were left behind.
I was told that someone would return for the remaining belongings and bring them to him, but that did not happen. I ended up having to return myself to retrieve everything that had been left behind. Had I not done so, he would have been missing several items.
Most concerning of all, his personal oxygen machine was nearly left behind, apparently mistaken for property belonging to Bridgewater. Had I not spoken up it would have been left behind.
For a patient who relies on others for his care and cannot simply retrieve these things himself, better communication, attention to detail, and consideration should have been provided throughout the transfer.
Thank you colin for being patient and caring!!!!
Bridgewater is such a beautiful place to be. The staff are very polite and treat you like family. Management has always been able to help answer any questions. The activities offers keep loved ones engaged and busy with things they enjoy doing.
When comparing all things, in my opinion, the Bridgewater is the best choice for assisted living in Central Florida. Not-for profit. Locally incorporated. Locally operated. 30 year history.
