Our family is so grateful for Watercrest and the care and support my 93-year-old mom has received there, first 5 years in Independent Living and now as she transitions to Assisted Living.
A very special recognition needs to go to Irene. She has truly been a godsend to my mom and to our entire family. Irene has gone far beyond what we ever could have expected, helping Mom with both her physical and emotional needs. She cared about her as a person in Independent Living, and even after Mom moved to Assisted Living, Irene has continued to check on her and help her — sometimes after hours and when it certainly was no longer her responsibility.
That kind of caring cannot be taught. My mom absolutely loves Irene, and as a daughter living many states away, it means more than I can say to know there is someone there who genuinely knows her, cares about her, and notices when she needs a little extra help.
This transition to Assisted Living has understandably been difficult for Mom. She hasn’t quite been herself as she adjusts to a new routine and a new system. Irene has recognized that and has gone out of her way to help reconnect Mom with old friends and familiar activities so she can begin feeling like herself again. Our hope is that she will soon get back to the things she enjoys — including spending time with friends and painting.
There are many things that make a senior living community work well, but people are at the center of it. Having someone like Irene who treats residents with kindness, dignity, patience, and genuine affection makes an enormous difference — not only to the resident, but to the whole family.
Watercrest is very fortunate to have her. Irene, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for our mom. You have been an absolute blessing to our family.
I have been at Watercrest for 2 years. Prior to moving to Watercrest, I visited 10 other senior communities. Watercrest was my top choice because of its location. I am close to drug stores, restaurants, shopping centers, gas stations, etc. Other reason is the availability of things to do such as a workout place with a trainer, library, movie theatre, craft room, games for residents can play, dining place, bar area to eat or have a drink with your meal, exercise events, etc. Being here feels like you are a big family where everyone cares and willing to help others. Management is friendly and willing to help anyone when he or she needs any assistance. Through my social world, I recommend Watercrest for any senior looking for an independent or assisted living.
Thank you for the wonderful hospitality! We recently held a Corporate Breakfast at Watercrest Buena Vista and it was PERFECT. The staff was amazing and the food was delicious. I am still in awe about the room set up. You nailed it. When you walked in the beautiful room, it was clear that the Alzheimer's Association was in the house! All the attention to detail was amazing. I needed the breakfast to impress, and you made it happen. Thank you to everyone involved.
From the day I walked in, it was different than ALL the others - the staff, cleanliness, activities, food and EVERYONE I have spoken to just loves living there. Julie Shelton who is the move-in coordinator has been FANTASTIC!!! Thanks Watercrest for making my mom feel like family!!
Watercrest Buena Vista is a beautiful community that provides great care and service to all their residents. I love that someone can start at independent living and move to assisted living or memory care if it's ever needed. It has beautiful amenities and a great management team who ensure confidence and accountability. I refer my clients to them often and with confidence!
