The Watermark at Vistawilla is not a vacation community; it's a medical facility, with clean, contemporary furnishings and a resident population of fewer than 100. There are larger, more expensive, and more grandiose communities out there. But the personal relationship I've built with Chad Carnes is what lets me rest easy knowing my mother is safe.
Under Chad's leadership, The Watermark has made my mother's transition through independent living, assisted living, and now memory care possible. Their entire team, medical staff, management, even the dining room staff, gives me peace of mind that my mother is well cared for.
One moment says it better than I can: I watched a nurse casually offer her his arm, and she introduced him to me as "her attorney." She couldn't find the words to name what she felt, safe, cared for, at ease with him, so she reached for the closest phrase she had. That she chose "attorney" wasn't about accuracy. It was her way of saying, "this is someone I trust."
Every decision, every move, every concern has been handled with grace and obvious care. During the period of my mother's greatest need, this team has provided everything necessary to protect her. When things have been difficult, they've worked with us to find solutions.
I don't write reviews easily, but I write this one gladly. The Watermark isn't the biggest or the fanciest option in the area. It's simply the place where my mother is safe, and that safety starts with Chad Carnes. It's his leadership that sets the tone his staff carries into every room, every day. Because of that, I've learned to trust people I didn't know a year ago with the person I love most.
Nurse LeLe is truly amazing! The care and compassion she shows my dad mean so much to our family. She genuinely cares about her patients and always takes the time to talk with them, listen to their concerns, and make sure they feel heard and cared for. I’m so grateful that my dad has Nurse LeLe as his nurse. We couldn’t ask for someone more caring and compassionate!
Watermark is a beautiful facility on the surface, and there are individuals who truly care about the residents and families. Unfortunately, those individuals seem to be leaving one by one.
The recent departure of Shanece is deeply upsetting. She was the heart of this community and someone my family trusted and appreciated immensely. Before her, David also left another key person who made a real difference. When the people who genuinely care continue to exit, it raises serious concerns about leadership, culture, and internal support.
Families notice consistency. Residents need stability. Frequent turnover in meaningful roles impacts trust and continuity of care, no matter how nice the building looks.
Thank you to Shanece for everything you did for my family you are truly appreciated and irreplaceable. I hope Watermark leadership takes a hard look at why such impactful staff members keep leaving, because the residents and families deserve better.
At the eye clinic for my mother I noticed a most wonderful human, Carlos Ware, caring for an older couple. His kindness toward them and those at the clinic, along with his absolutely infectious smile and positive attitude made me take note. Turns out he is a 5- year employee with your company so I had to write a review.
I wanted to leave a shout out to Carlos Ware, a driver from this facility.
His kindness and respect for residents that he transports to our clinic is above and beyond.
He is so special and everyone who encounters him is so lucky!
