Our family has been so happy with Calyx Assisted Living! My aunt has been there for over five months, and it has been wonderful to see her thriving more than she has in a very long time. She is eating more, getting around more independently, and participating in activities that she simply wasn’t able to do before. Seeing her happier, more active, and engaged has meant so much to our family.
We are always especially happy when Cory is her nurse. We know she will be well cared for when he is around. He consistently goes the extra mile to give her the love, attention, and support she needs. His compassion and dedication truly stand out, and we are so grateful for him.
Bianca is also incredibly friendly and wonderful to work with. She is always willing to answer our questions, listen to our concerns, and help us with whatever we need. Her kindness and responsiveness make such a difference.
And Julia, the activities director, is truly a ray of sunshine to the staff, residents, and families. She brings such positive energy every day and does an amazing job planning activities and outings that give the residents opportunities to have fun, stay engaged, and enjoy new experiences.
We are incredibly grateful to the entire Calyx team for the care and support they provide. It gives our family such peace of mind knowing our aunt is in a place where she is not only cared for, but truly thriving. We highly recommend Calyx Assisted Living!
My mother lives here with advanced dementia. She is talking more than she has in three years. She is engaging in crafts and eating! While at home she was sleeping more than 20 hours a day and almost non responsive to family… now, she talks and smiles. Mrs Pat is beyond incredible with the residents! We love Ricky, Kamora, Erin, Peaches, and Ashley Williams. I have nothing but positive love and feelings for this place! At a hard time of life, Calyx has come in and offered help and support. I thank God we were able to get my mother here!!!
My mother loves her caregivers! They are kind and attentive. They watch her carefully so that I never worry about her when I'm not here. The nursing staff is especially vigilant and responsive. The director and the business manager are always available, as well.
My mom was a resident of this facility’s memory care unit for almost a year before she passed away recently. I moved her to this memory care from an assisted living facility in Raleigh. I cannot say enough about the team who took care of her— from the assistant in the office, to the director, to the head nurse, to the facility caretaker, to the entire care team, it felt as if they truly loved her. I could not have taken care of my mom without the team at Calyx. It’s always hard to know if you’re choosing the right facility. I looked at many in Raleigh, Carey, Durham, and Chapel Hill. I was fortunate to land here. Thank you.
I recently joined a friend on a tour of Calyx Living on Guess Road and was truly touched by what we experienced. This charming, vibrant community felt more like a welcoming retreat than a care facility. The décor was tasteful, the lighting bright, and the atmosphere full of life.
During our visit, residents were enjoying a watercolor class—it was joyful and inspiring. The young woman who gave us the tour couldn’t have been kinder, and her genuine care for the residents shone through.
Calyx Living is a true gem in Durham—warm, engaging, and surprisingly affordable. When the time comes for my own parents to need support, I’ll feel grateful knowing places like this exist.
